Single Rider 003 - River Belle Terrace Food Review

Join Heather, JohnDUB and Myself as we sample the new menu at Disneyland's River Belle Terrace. The new menu is in keeps with the Disney Parks commitment to improve the food offerings in park and to give guests healthier options. I think it's so they only have to retro fit It's a small world and not Pirates or Splash.

I will not be adding this episode of The Single Rider to the video feeds so please subscribe.

I have also submitted the Show to iTunes and will let you all know when it is available there.

I am not really sure I have never been in the building before the refurb so I have no decent answer for that but it did seen there wasn't very much indoor seating.

Will~
it's my new favorite place to eat! tried the turkey sandwich last time, well split it and the prime rib with a friend and it's just as good, lots of meat on it!

Tony~
the indoor seating is still rather non-existent and i'm sure you've walked by the outside to see that nothing has changed there.

episode is downloaded and uploaded to my iPod, now just to decide if i really want to listen to myself or not :D i'll be listening tomorrow during lunch while at work, wishing i was at Disneyland like i almost was going to be :/

I think that would be the way to go there have a friend to split the sandwiches so you get to try the others .... Might have to try that.

Us too..hopefully Oscar Martinez will be working that day. You gotta meet him, great guy. Just celebrated his 50th anniversary with DL. He was going to retire, but has decided to stay. he's the head chef and loves to interact with the guests.

From what I hear Oscar has already retired. I believe when Mouseketeer Greg was down, he was supposed to retire in March :( But the special is still available as long as you get a seat.

Yeah, I thought Oscar had retired too. I remember a Mouseketeer Greg vidcast about it ...I think it was his... Also, pixiegiggles, I should clarify that Shannon and I are going to the River Belle Terrace for breakfast. We'd like to do the Carnation but... I think we were worried about sitting too long and missing some valuable park time. I know...I know... The Carnation is probably worth it. But we only have a few days. :(

I read that he changed his mind..i sure hope he did. last trip he gave mean autographed copy of the castmember magazine..=) He's so cute.

from Micechat March 5th 08:

Carnation Cafe has reopened

The pavement of the Carnation Cafe has been replaced (now a Brick "looking" concrete pattern) and is now reopened.

I know a lot of folks are fans of Oscar Martinez, who is the longest "running" Disneyland employee, who started in late 1955. (Some folks might want to claim that Marty Sklar is the longest running Disneyland employee, since he started in 1955, prior to park opening. But he did spend a lot of his time at WED/WDI (1966-2006) prior to returning to the "Parks and Resorts" division in a new role of "Imagineering Ambassador").

The good news, Oscar earlier stated he wanted to retire at the end of this month, but has changed his mind, and will remain at the Carnation Cafe for the foreseeable future.

Close but, not so.......I had my southern belle lessons with :auntielo: at Cafe Orleans over breakfast.

Carnation is always sooo busy, but getting into C. Orleans isn't too difficult, I luv it there....sentimental value :)

Chris, I listened to it during the ride home. Excellent. Definitely got me excited for eating here during our Westfest trip!

I like how you're really mixing up these SR episodes...so we're getting to know about The Big D. :D

Especially loved the Illuminations music at the end...it will surely send Keegs all giddy with excitement. LOL

Make you sure you take care of yourself...we need you well for Westfest!

Thanks Will i have been having fun mixing up the content.

I know I will be definitely having a hard time deciding where to eat now becuase this has become a solid choice.

I felt the episode was running a little short so I added one of my favorite pieces of music. I lurvs the illuminations.

Fun Show Chris!

I always enjoy hearing your food reviews and it's cool when ya have some friends around to give their opinions too.
Really enjoyed the closing song too. I have it, but haven't listened to it in a long while. Thanks for the entertainment!
