DCA HPB rumor

Postby amp88 » Sat Feb 28, 2009 1:47 am

I was watching a video on the DCA changes on youtube.com, and a change that was not reported by any one of you guys caught my attention. The rumor is that the MuppetVision 3D show could be going, and might be replaced by a Narnia attraction. personally, this is one of my favorite shows in DCA, and I would be angered to see it go. If anyone has any confirmation, please get back to me.

I don't think that will happen. There's no logic behind the move anymore now that Disney has detached from the Chronicles of Narnia movie franchise.

And the last movie was a flop.

Muppet's have staying power as well as the demographics of people whom grew up with them is getting older and have children in the age which would like the Muppet's. This is the time in which I grew-up and I have noticed more and more late 70's and 80's toys. GI Joe, and Star Wars are a perfect examples. When I see them I think to myself, "Dang, I remember when I had that..."

that and if they planned it on being anything like the narnia attraction in wdw allot of people i think would personally set fire to it, that attraction is nothing but a big commercial! plus um like everyone loves the muppets duh! it would be very silly for them to take it out unless something like a hannah montana attraction taking place then i can see it being taken over in a heart beat! :jefffromhouston:
Trips: none for now

The Muppets are leaaving? :jump:  :blueelph: :laffline: :balloons:

I can't wait. You know an attraction is on the downturn when part of it's queue to taken away to make more seating for a nearby restaurant.

I agree. I am certain it will NOT be a Narnia attraction especially with what was previously pointed out that the last movie was a "flop" and Disney will no longer be a part of the franchise.

As for the muppets, I was a fan when I was younger and I still in some ways consider the Muppets to be special but I think that 3-D show isn't that good. I really can't stand that "3-D" character partly because he looks very dated with 80s 3-D animation. There are some aspects of the show that are a lot of fun like the guys in the balcony and the Chief vs the penguins. That's pretty awesome. I think it would be great to get a new 3-D show weather it be a new muppets show or something entirely different. That's my thought.

Josh

I agree with you. I think that the premise of the show is a good a plausible one, but it needs a simple update. Disney would not put something in a space that is not viable, well other than superstar limo :whack: . It started in 1991 at Disney Hollywood Studios and was in DCA in 2001. This was the same show, so we are viewing something that is 18 years old.

All I say is let it stay, but update it.

I LOVE the spin that a movie that made $419,651,413 in theatres worldwide is considered a flop.

I know, I know. Expectations were higher, but, come on. The movie paid back 2 bucks for every dollar spent on production. Add in DVD and Blu-Ray sales...

Yopauly, remember there are lies, damn lies and statistics. The monotary success worldwide is fine for a movie, but how much was from the first movie that was good? Also, in reguards to the park, they will not care about worldwide sales only US, because these are the people most likely to visit the parks.
